Understanding Boiler Fault Codes

Modern boilers have self-diagnostic systems that display fault codes when something goes wrong. These codes vary by manufacturer but many share common meanings.

Worcester Bosch Fault Codes

  • E9: Safety cut-out (overheating)
  • 224-V: Loss of flame signal
  • EA: Flue gas temperature sensor fault

Vaillant Fault Codes

  • F22: Low water pressure
  • F28/F29: Ignition fault
  • F75: Pressure sensor fault

Baxi Fault Codes

  • E1: Ignition failure
  • E119: Low water pressure
  • E168: General system fault

If resetting doesn't clear the fault, always call a Gas Safe engineer.
