Remeha is a Dutch manufacturer (part of the BDR Thermea group, which also owns Baxi and De Dietrich) with an exceptional commercial and premium residential reputation across Europe. The Calenta is their flagship residential combi for the UK market.
Efficiency
The Calenta achieves up to 107% gross efficiency — which sounds counterintuitive but is a result of different measurement standards. In comparable terms, this puts it at approximately 96% net efficiency, making it one of the most efficient residential combis available.
Build quality
Premium throughout — stainless steel heat exchanger, German-engineered modulating burner, and build quality that matches or exceeds Viessmann. Internal components are designed for serviceability.
Reliability
Our engineers consistently report the Calenta as one of the most reliable boilers they work on. Lower call-back rates than the mass-market brands in our experience.
Warranty
Up to 7 years depending on registration and installer status. Less impressive than Worcester Bosch's 12 years, but the reliability record makes this less of a concern in practice.
Price
Calenta pricing is comparable to Viessmann Vitodens — premium over Worcester Bosch 8000. The price premium is justified by the build quality and efficiency.
Verdict
If you want the very best engineering in a residential combi and are prepared to pay the premium, the Calenta deserves serious consideration alongside the Viessmann Vitodens. Highly recommended for larger homes and demanding applications.
