Magnetic Filter Installation
A magnetic filter is fitted to the central heating return pipe and captures iron oxide particles (black sludge) before they can damage your boiler's heat exchanger. Most boiler manufacturers now require a magnetic filter to maintain warranty validity. We recommend fitting one to every boiler installation.

Which magnetic filter brand do you recommend?
We fit Adey MagnaClean Professional 2 or Fernox TF1 — both are excellent. We fit MagnaClean on Worcester Bosch installations specifically as Worcester require it for their extended warranty.
How often does a magnetic filter need cleaning?
Annually — we clean the filter at each boiler service as a matter of course. On a new or recently flushed system, the filter collects very little debris.
