Underfloor Heating Installation

Underfloor heating (UFH) provides even, draught-free warmth from the floor up — and when paired with a modern condensing boiler or heat pump, is highly efficient. We design and install wet underfloor heating systems for extensions, renovations, and new builds across Northamptonshire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can underfloor heating be retrofitted to an existing home?

Yes, but it depends on floor construction. Solid concrete floors are ideal. Timber suspended floors can use low-profile clip-and-plate systems. Raised floor height needs to be considered in retrofit projects.

Is underfloor heating more expensive to run than radiators?

When paired with a condensing boiler, UFH runs at lower flow temperatures (typically 40–50°C vs 70°C for radiators), which increases boiler efficiency. Running costs are comparable or slightly lower than a well-designed radiator system.

How long does the screed take to dry?

Standard screed requires approximately 28 days to cure before the system is brought to full operating temperature. We provide a commissioning schedule for the gradual warm-up process.
