Boiler Grants and Funding: What's Available in 2024
Government grants can significantly reduce the cost of a new boiler or heat pump. Here's what's available and whether you qualify.
Several government schemes can reduce or even eliminate the cost of upgrading your heating system. This guide covers what's currently available.
ECO4 Scheme
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme funds insulation and heating improvements for low-income households. Eligibility is based on means-testing — recipients of certain benefits including Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or Child Tax Credit may qualify. In some cases this covers the full cost of a new boiler.
To check eligibility, contact your energy supplier directly or use the government's online eligibility checker.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)
The BUS provides grants of up to £7,500 for air source heat pumps and £5,000 for ground source heat pumps. This is a grant toward replacing a gas or oil boiler with a heat pump — it does not apply to gas-to-gas boiler replacements.
Warm Homes Discount
A £150 annual discount on energy bills for qualifying households. Not a boiler grant, but helps with running costs.
Local authority schemes
Northamptonshire County Council and some district councils run additional schemes for energy efficiency improvements. We can help you identify what you might be eligible for in the Corby area.
Our 0% finance
