A little preparation before installation day makes the process smoother and helps our engineers work more efficiently. Here's what we recommend.
Before installation day
- Clear the area around the boiler: Remove any items stored near or on top of the boiler cupboard. We need clear access to the front, sides, and underneath.
- Identify your stopcock: Know where your mains water stopcock is located. We may need to operate it during the installation.
- Note the gas meter location: Particularly important if it's in an unusual position — external box, basement, or locked compound.
- Protect flooring: We use dust sheets but a spare tarpaulin or old sheet to protect any expensive flooring near the work area is worthwhile.
- Boiler controls accessible: If your current controls are in different rooms, know their locations so we can assess them.
On installation day
- You'll need to be home for the full duration (typically all day for a standard swap)
- Ensure hot water is available for the engineers if needed
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Expect brief interruptions to heating and hot water throughout the day
After installation
We'll walk you through operating the new boiler and controls, provide all warranty documentation, and confirm the commissioning certificate has been issued. Any questions after installation: call us directly — we're always available.
