Boiler installation is a significant job, but a well-prepared home makes our engineers' work faster and ensures everything goes smoothly. Here's what to do before we arrive.
The day before
- Clear the boiler area: Remove everything stored in the airing cupboard, under the boiler, or in the utility room. We need clear access to all sides of the boiler.
- Locate your stopcock: Know where your mains water stopcock is. If it's stiff or you're unsure, locate it now — not when we need to use it urgently.
- Note the gas meter location: Particularly if it's in an external box or compound — we'll need access to it.
- Plan for no hot water: Have a kettle for hot drinks; arrange a shower elsewhere if needed for a full day's installation.
On the morning
- Protect any expensive flooring near the work area with an old sheet or tarpaulin — we use dust sheets but an extra layer doesn't hurt
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Have the property warm if possible before we start (easier on cold mornings)
What we handle
We remove and dispose of the old boiler, manage all Gas Safe certification and Building Regulations notification, and walk you through the new system before we leave. Any questions after we've gone: call us directly.
