Getting Ready for Your Boiler Installation
Good preparation ensures the installation goes smoothly and minimises disruption to your day.
Before the Day
- Clear the area around your existing boiler (typically 1 metre around each side)
- Ensure the boiler cupboard or utility room is accessible
- Know the location of your stopcock and gas meter
- If possible, identify the location of all radiators and any that may need bleeding
On the Day
- Have an adult present throughout the installation
- Heating and hot water will be unavailable for most of the day
- Have kettles and a travel kettle ready for hot drinks
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
After Installation
The engineer will test all radiators, set your thermostat, and show you how to use the new controls. Keep the warranty card, installation certificate, and Gas Safe registration number safe.
