Combi or system boiler — which is better?
Combi boilers are ideal for smaller homes (1–3 bedrooms, 1–2 bathrooms). System boilers suit larger homes with higher hot water demand as they deliver hot water at mains pressure to multiple outlets simultaneously.
What boiler size do I need?
Use our free online calculator. As a guide: 1–2 bed flat (24kW), 3-bed house (28–30kW), 4+ bed house (35–40kW). For system boilers, the cylinder size matters more than the boiler output.
Which boiler brand is best?
Worcester Bosch is consistently rated as the UK's most reliable boiler brand. Vaillant and Baxi are also excellent. Budget options like Ideal and Alpha offer good value with shorter warranties.
Should I get a smart thermostat?
We recommend it — smart thermostats save £100–£200 per year on heating bills and make managing your heating much more convenient. We can fit one at the same time as your new boiler.
